It is divided into several sections including science, gymnasium, art and swimming. Visitors are normally treated to a concert put on by the children, showcasing their skills.

The Ryugyong Hotel (sometimes anglicised as Ryu-Gyong Hotel or Yu-Kyung Hotel is a 105-story pyramid-shaped skyscraper under construction in Pyongyang, North Korea. Its name („capital of willows“) is also one of the historical names for Pyongyang. The building is also known as the 105 Building, a reference to its number of floors. Construction began in 1987 but was halted in 1992 as North Korea entered a period of economic crisis after the fall of the Soviet Union.

After 1992 the building stood topped out, but without any windows or interior fittings. In 2008 construction resumed. In 2012, the exterior was reported to be complete. The opening of the hotel was scheduled several times but postponed.

Erected in 1976, ornately designed performance center in city centre, the Mansudae Art Theater is venue for opera, choral and instrumental concerts. It is also one of the venues used by visiting art troupes for State performances. The government of the DPRK hosts anniversary banquets and State dinners here.

Grand People’s Study House

DPRK equivalent of the Library of Congress or the British Library; this building is an overt demonstration that Korean-style socialism emphasizes the essential role and function of the intellectual. The North Korean education system (Juche Education, if you like) is based on the principle of "study while working". This was part of the extensive construction in Pyongyang in honor of President Kim il Sung’s 70th birthday in 1982. It was initially going to be called the Kim il Sung Library, but President Kim demurred to the people. The architecture of the place is traditional Korean with 34 saddle roofs topped with 750,000 green tiles. The Study House allegedly has 30,000,000 million volumes within it. With the proper authorization, a Korean may enjoy the sounds of The Beatles. Paul McCartney’s "Yesterday" is a popular karaoke selection in Pyongyang.
